Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Shining Eyes Dog Training and Education! These Terms and Conditions outline the rules and guidelines for participating in our dog training services, including group classes, one-to-one sessions, and workshops. By enrolling in our programs, you agree to the following terms. Please read them carefully.

 1. Definitions

- "We," "Us," "Our" refers to Shining Eyes Dog Training and Education.

- "Client" refers to the individual or entity booking or participating in training services, including dog owners and handlers.

- "Service(s)" refers to group classes, one-to-one training sessions, workshops, or any other dog training service offered by Shining Eyes Dog Training and Education.

 2. Services

Shining Eyes Dog Training and Education offers the following services:

- Group Classes: Structured sessions designed to work with multiple dogs and their owners on basic and advanced training skills.

- One-to-One Sessions: Personalised, individual training sessions tailored to the specific needs of you and your dog.

- Workshops: Themed, intensive sessions aimed at addressing specific behaviours or skill development.

 3. Booking and Payment

- Booking: Clients may book services through our website or by direct contact with our team. All bookings must be confirmed via email.

- Payment: Payment is due in full at the time of booking in order to secure a booking, unless otherwise agreed upon. Payment information will be given on invoices provided.

- Cancellations and Rescheduling:

               - You may cancel your booking within 24 hours of making the booking for a full refund. After this period, the service is non-refundable.

               - You may transfer your booking to another date up to a week before your booking. Bookings can be transferred once only.

4. Client Responsibilities

- Dog Health and Behaviour: Clients are responsible for ensuring their dog is in good health; dogs must be fully vaccinated with proof available, in order to attend classes.

- Dogs showing signs of kennel cough or who have recently had kennel cough, must not attend classes until at least two weeks after their symptoms have completely resolved.

- If your dog is unwell, aggressive, or poses a risk to other participants, you agree to notify us in advance and may be asked to reschedule or leave the session. It may be deemed more appropriate to arrange a one-to-one session as an alternative.

- If your dog comes into season, please let your trainer know as soon as possible. Your booking may still go ahead or be rescheduled at the discretion of the trainer.

- Handling and Equipment: Clients must use safe and appropriate equipment for all sessions. Dogs must attend wearing a flat collar with ID tag and ideally a well-fitting harness. Prong collars, choke chains, electric collars and slip leads are not permitted in training sessions. This is to ensure an optimal learning environment for both dogs and clients. We reserve the right to refuse participation if you refuse to comply.

- Supervision: Clients must supervise their dogs at all times during group classes and workshops and follow any instructions provided by our trainers to ensure safety for all participants. Each dog must be accompanied by someone over the age of 18. Children are not allowed to take part in sessions unaccompanied. They are welcome to attend if accompanied by a responsible adult, and must not disrupt other participants.

5. Trainer Responsibilities

- Training Methods: We use positive, evidence-based training methods, focusing on reward-based techniques to achieve optimal learning and enhance the relationship between owners and dogs. Harsh handling, physical force, intimidation and punishment-based methods are not permitted in classes or one-to-one sessions and strongly advised against during your own training outside of these sessions.

- Safety: We are committed to maintaining a safe and positive environment for all participants, both human and dogs. Trainers will monitor dogs and owners closely during sessions and intervene as necessary to prevent harm or injury. This may include removing a dog from class for welfare reasons such as stress or health concerns. In this situation, a 50% refund will be given, or, a discussion will be had regarding rescheduling.

- We reserve the right to change, amend or postpone the date or time of your booking at short notice. This may include running a session online instead of in person.

6. Intellectual Property

- Ownership: All content, including but not limited to training materials, videos, photographs, social media content, handouts, and written resources, provided during training sessions, workshops, email or through online platforms, are the exclusive property of Shining Eyes Dog Training and Education.

- Use of Materials: Clients are granted a limited, non-transferable license to use the training materials for personal, non-commercial purposes related to their dog’s training. Any reproduction, distribution, or commercial use of these materials without prior written consent is strictly prohibited.

- Photography and Videography: By participating in our services, you consent to the use of photographs or video recordings taken during training sessions for promotional, educational, or marketing purposes, unless you request otherwise in writing. Requests can be sent via email to shiningeyesdogs@outlook.com.

7. Liability and Indemnity

- Assumption of Risk: Clients acknowledge that dog training involves inherent risks, including but not limited to dog bites, scratches, and other injuries. By participating in our services, clients assume all risks associated with these activities.

- Liability Waiver: Shining Eyes Dog Training and Education and its trainers are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage to persons, dogs, property, or possessions arising from participation in training sessions, workshops, or other activities. Clients agree to indemnify and hold harmless Shining Eyes Dog Training and Education from any claims, damages, or losses arising out of their participation in our programs.

- Vaccinations reduce, but do not eliminate the risk of infection, therefore, by attending classes, you understand this risk and in the event of your dog becoming ill, a claim cannot be made against the trainer or the venue at which the classes are held.

- You understand and accept that your dog and its behaviour remain entirely your responsibility at all times, whether or not in the presence of the trainer.

8. Code of Conduct

- Respectful Behaviour: We expect all clients to maintain respectful behaviour toward our trainers, other participants, and their dogs. Disruptive or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in the client being asked to leave the training session without refund.

- Dog Behaviour: Clients are expected to manage their dog’s behaviour according to the guidelines provided. We reserve the right to dismiss any dog that displays aggressive or unsafe behaviour from group sessions or workshops without refund.

9. Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy and are committed to safeguarding the personal information you provide to us. For detailed information on how we collect, use, and protect your data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
